Early on Saturday morning, the Ukrainian Air Force stated in a statement on Telegram that the attacks were carried out from the Sea of Azov against the "central, western and eastern" parts of the country. According to the statement, eleven of 16 drones were shot down.
The attacks were directed, among other things, at the capital of Kyiv and the counties of Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk in western Ukraine.
Lviv's Governor Maksym Kozytskyj states in a statement that three out of six drones aimed at the county were shot down and the other three struck down in areas without housing. No personal injuries have been reported.
Also in Dnipropetrovsk in the southwest three drones were shot down. Two more are reported to have hit and caused "significant injury" on critical infrastructure in the city of Novomoskovsk. No person is reported to have been injured.
The drone attacks began the hours after the International Criminal Court ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In its daily update, the Ukrainian military states that Russia has conducted 34 air strikes and a missile attack in the last 24 hours.
