A suspected dangerous object has been sighted in the water at Scaniabadet in Västra Hamnen in Malmö, says the police. The object floats out in the water about ten meters from the beach edge.
"Since we don't know what it can be and can't rule out that it's dangerous, we handle it as a dangerous object", says the police press speaker Evelina Olsson.
Barriers have been established both on land and in the water. Ship traffic in and out of the nearby free port has been stopped.
"I don't know if anyone is affected right now, but information has gone out that you should stay away," says Olsson.
The police are sending drones up to investigate the object closer.
