It was on March 28 that a man in his 55s was shot in the head of a gym in central Stockholm. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he later died.

On Tuesday, four people were charged with involvement in the murder.

This includes a 16-year-old boy suspected of having committed the murder and an 18-year-old suspected of accessory to murder. The other defendants are in their 30s. According to the prosecutor, they have in various ways promoted the murder and attempted murder.

"I have prosecuted for the murder of a visitor at the gym but also for attempted murder of another person who was there. The investigation has shown nothing other than that the person who died was not the actual target but merely intervened against the perpetrator," says Prosecutor Daniel Suneson in a press release from the Prosecutor's Office.

The charge is linked to two other investigations into serious public destruction on 20 March 2022 at Södermalm, when a hand grenade was thrown into a restaurant. It is also linked to a case of serious gun crime, where among other things the murder weapon from the gym was found in an apartment in Johanneshov.

The 16-year-old is prosecuted in addition to murder for attempted murder at the gym, gross public devastation at the restaurant at Södermalm and gross gun crime.
