Poland is gathering a group of countries to send tanks to Ukraine, says Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

It is about the famous tank model Leopard 2, which manufactures Germany still hesitates to send. And Sweden does not give any information either.

Leopard 2 is with a number of European countries' defense forces, here in Danish version in Estonia last week.

"We will ask permission, but that's not the main thing", says Morawiecki according to the news agency AP.

"Even if we do not get this permission in the end, we will โ€“ within this small coalition โ€“ hand over our tanks, together, to Ukraine."

The German tank model Leopard 2 is located in more than ten European countries, including Denmark, Sweden and Finland.

Ukraine has long asked for such modern tanks to be brought to war against Russia, and its existence in many countries means that training and maintenance can be carried out by several nationalities.

Germany has been criticized for slow action, but continues to ask for patience.

"These are difficult questions, about life and death", says government speaker Steffen Hebestreit on Monday according to AP.

"We have to ask ourselves what this means for the defense of our own country."

Sweden's Minister for Defense Pรฅl Jonson attended a special meeting on Friday for countries that have Leopard 2. He pointed out that Sweden currently has a focus on delivering the 50 combat vehicles 90 and the artillery system Archer promised to Ukraine.

At the same time, Jonson did not rule out that Sweden could provide any kind of support "linked to Leoparder" At the meeting, for example, how to train tank crews and contribute maintenance.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Tobias Billstrรถm refers primarily to Jonson, but says on Monday to TT in Brussels:

"I would like to stress that we recently took a very large and important decision to prepare for the transfer of the artillery system Archer to Ukraine."

"Road wagons are good, but artillery systems are also something Ukraine has been very interested in getting and we have one of the best in the world."
