Mild weather has made many icefields in Central Sweden unsafe. Anyone planning to go out anyway should make sure they bring both company and equipment.

For those who want to take their skates or each other across the ice, the thaw of recent weeks has brought grim news.
"Before Christmas it looked good, but since then it has turned mild. Even if it hasn't been extreme, it's taking its toll on the ice," says Jan Insulander at the Ice Safety Council.
If you still want to go out, it's important to find out what it's like in your local area, as local variations are great. Another important aspect is having the right equipment.
And the most important thing:
"You should always have someone with you, that's the best advice. You should always make sure you have some friends because if you go through it can be a difficult situation even if you are well trained because it will be such a shock," Jan Insulander.
If you're dealing with heat-affected ice that hasn't had time to get at least ten centimetres of core, you have to be extra careful.
If you want to be on the safe side, you can wait for the next cold snap.
"Hopefully, such ice will reappear - after all, we still have half the winter left," says Jan Insulander.
