Disappointment for AIK: "Don't look for excuses"
There was no third straight Swedish victory for gold-hunting AIK. Mittenteam Kalmar won after a penalty case by Oliver Berg.
On our good days, we are really good," says Oliver Berg in Discovery+.
In the middle of the table Djällby and Elfsborg split the points.
AIK threw the midfield new acquisition Vincent Thill into the starter in the all-Swedish away game against Kalmar.
In Kalmar, the Finn Simon Skrabb, who usually lives in the beginning, was missing due to suspension. Nevertheless, Kalmar took a well-deserved victory.
On our good days we are really good, then we have a lot to work with. We have to get better at a lot, says Oliver Berg in Discovery+.
After ten minutes of play, Kalmar's defenseman Lars Sætra, who has scored three goals in all of Sweden this season, was close to expanding his goal balance with a self-goal. But goaltender Ricardo Friedrich was on the note and stood for a spectacular one-handed rescue.
In the first half, Kalmar, in its characteristic way, dominated the possession of the ball with its card-passing game.
The new acquisition Papa Diouf stabbed like a cobra on a plug-in and gunfired in 1–0, but the case was convicted of offside.
Thus the law went to rest periods with the score 0-0.
In minute 53, Kalmar's Norwegian captain Oliver Berg won a penalty after a duel with AIK captain Sebastian Larsson and the outer hill Erick Otieno.
Berg took care of the penalty park himself and placed it high up in the goalkeeper's right corner, 1–0 Kalmar. The goal was the middle fielder's fifth this season.
A few minutes later, Kalmar's Sebastian Nanasi, who was borrowed from Malmö, was close to expanding the home management but Kristoffer Nordfeldt in the AIK case saved to the corner.
With twenty minutes left to play, Nicolas Stefanelli tested shots from a distance, but Friedrich was again on the note.
Despite the fact that AIK was under the power of the Stockholm team did not with any real finalization. Thus Kalmar could easily play the game and win by 1–0.
AIK drops at the top
The result is that AIK, who had the chance to go up in serial line, is in fourth place in the table. The team is now three points after serially leading Djurgården that ticked (0–0) away towards Värnamo on Sunday.
We won't look for any excuses, I'm not here to look for any excuses at all," says Sebastian Larsson.
Kalmar, for its part, is found in seventh place in the table.
In the meeting between Mjällby and Elfsborg, at Strandvallen, the former took the lead almost immediately. In the fifth minute Silas Nwankwo pulled in 1–0 on volleyball after a corner. In addition, Elfsborg then signed a dream goal signed by Michael Baidoo.
With the new point in the account, Djällby continues to be eight in all Swedish, with three points up to Malmö in fifth place.
Elfsborg is in tenth place, with eleven points down to Degerfors on the qualifying grounds.
